A bit about me
Hi, my name is Laura. I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I am also a JNC qualified youth worker and have extensive experience of supporting both young people and adults with all aspects of their mental health.
Before stepping into the world of consultancy, training and private practice I was Chief Executive of a Midlands based social enterprise that supported around 1000 children and their families annually by providing emotional and practical support.
I now spend my time developing emotional wellbeing programmes for the children and young people sector, delivering mental health training to professionals working in the social care arena, teaching accredited counselling courses and providing one to one counselling to adolescents and adults via my private practice.
How counselling can help
Life can be challenging, and sometimes we all face obstacles that feel difficult to navigate alone. Reaching out for support is a brave and important step towards finding your way through these struggles. In our work together, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself and explore the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that are weighing on you.
I use an integrative approach to therapy, blending person-centred, psychodynamic, and psychoeducation methods, tailored to suit your unique needs. Depending on the issue, I may also incorporate aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you build practical skills for managing challenges.
Counselling offers a safe space to gain clarity and understanding, helping you process emotions, gain insight into patterns, and explore new perspectives.
What counselling can help with
Counselling can support you through a wide range of challenges, from navigating difficult emotions and life transitions to addressing long-standing concerns that may feel overwhelming. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, feeling disconnected in your relationships, or coping with the loss of a loved one, therapy offers a safe and supportive environment to explore these issues at your own pace.
I have 2 counselling rooms; one in Redditch and one in Earlswood near Solihull and can offer online counselling via zoom.
